For Christmas, fifth graders donated money to help out a local animal rescue instead of doing a gift swap. They brought in over $100 and used it to buy supplies for “A Life Line” located in Smyrna. Vacations, Covid, and the weather have made a visit difficult, but today it finally happened! Brandy, Gary, and Krayton from the rescue brought Joy, the donkey, and Marty and Reba, the alpacas, to visit the fifth graders and to pick up their donations.

The Southern Aroostook Community School After School Program Ski4Life has partnered with Big Rock Mountain to offer free or reduced cost for rental equipment, transportation, as well as skiing instruction to students in grades 3-12. This is a wonderful opportunity that many students would not get due to financial issues or lack of transportation. Some of the funds for Ski4Life are covered by the 21st Century CCLC ASP grant as well as RSU#50. However, grant funds have been reduced significantly this year and the SACS ASP Program is looking to raise $1000 for Ski4Life! If you are able, please consider making a contribution to this worthy program. Thank you!!
