Pre-k had a lot of fun celebrating Dr. Seuss this week!










Mr. Vetter and crew cooked hotdogs over the open fire at the outdoor classroom this afternoon. For some kids it was their first experience having a hotdog on the open fire.









Congratulations to Ruth Greene and Lily Rush on their selection to represent Southern Aroostook High School at Dirigo State this summer! Ruth and Lily were chosen based on their outstanding academic, service, character, and leadership qualities they have demonstrated here at school and in our community.
The American Legion, Department of Maine Dirigo State is a comprehensive, experiential learning, youth leadership program. It is designed after the Maine State government, where all students come together to create their own town, county, and state governing bodies.

There is no After School Program next week, March 9-13, 2026. Wednesday is an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at 11:15. Thursday and Friday are Workshop Days. Students should attend their conference time.
SACS photography class started their St. Patrick's day photoshoots this week! This is just part one so stay tuned for more in the coming week! 🍀🌈⭐️

On Monday, Mrs. Desmond’s second graders read Green Eggs and Ham to Miss Shelby’s kindergartners. Then they shared a yummy breakfast of green eggs, ham and pancakes!



4th Graders in Mrs. Starrett’s classroom have recently completed a Biography Project. Each student chose a Famous American to research and note take. Then they made either a poster or flip book about their person.








Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School seniors Lincoln Hardy, Hannah McGary, and Ally Shields on their selection to the Aroostook League Senior All-Star Game. Games will be played on Thursday March 5th at Caribou High School.


Mrs. White's class did a dye experiment with carnations.

Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School freshman Zac Lilley, a member of the SAMHA Jr Blackhawks, who defeated the Lewiston Gladiators, 6- 3, becoming the 2026, State of Maine Tier 4 14U Hockey Champions.
Zac Lilley turned away 21 of 23 shots in goal in the 2nd half to help seal the win for the Blackhawks.

Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School senior Isabella Martinez on the following College Acceptances followed by her Merit Awards; Merrimack College ($40,000), Gordon College, Husson University ($40,000), Elizabethtown College ($21,500), Quinnipiac University ($32,000), Thomas College ($16,000), UMass Lowell, UNE ($28,000), University of Vermont ($100,000) and her college of choice, Saint Joseph's College of Maine ($88,000) with a major in Medical Biology, Pre-Medicine.

Southern Aroostook High School Seniors Dillan Bishop and Hannah McGary have been selected to represent our school at the Aroostook County Senior Athletic Scholarship Banquet that is being held later this month.
Each high school in Aroostook County selects only one boy and one girl for this honor. Dillan and Hannah were chosen because of their outstanding dedication to both their athletics and academics.
This event is not only a recognition of their hard work but also an opportunity to receive a scholarship. The Aroostook League will randomly select five boys and five girls to receive scholarships. Thank you to the Aroostook League Athletic Directors for recognizing these student/athletes.

Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School Senior Annie Harthorne on her acceptance to the University of Maine and the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Annie was accepted into the College of Education and Human Development with a Major in Elementary Education. 📚✏️ Additionally, she received a merit scholarship at UMaine for $6,000 annually and $5,000 at UMPI.

Congratulations to Southern Aroostook High School Senior, Connor Lane, on his acceptance to Northern Maine Community College. Connor has been accepted into the Building Construction Technology program and is looking forward to starting college in the fall.
