
STATE CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY!!! Good luck to the So. Aroostook High School Girls & Boys Basketball teams as they play for the Class D State Championship in Augusta today! The So. Aroostook girls will be playing Seacoast Christian at 1:00pm and the So. Aroostook boys will be playing Forest Hills High School at 2:45pm. Good luck to the So. Aroostook cheerleaders and band as they both will be in Augusta to support or teams and school. Hope to see you all there! GO WARRIORS!!

It is Winter Carnival theme week at So. Aroostook High School. Nobody has more school spirit than So. Aroostook's Christopher Mitchell, also known as "The Mayor of Island Falls." Yesterday's theme was Pixar Movies and today is School Spirit.



Congratulations to So. Aroostook High School girls basketball players Madison Russell, Cami Shields, Madison Shields, & Emmalee Landry on being named to the Bangor Daily News Northern Maine Class D All-Tournament Team! Maddie Russell was named the Class D Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Cami was named to the first team, and Madison Shields and Emmalee earned Honorable Mention honors.

Congratulation to Luke Streinz of Southern Aroostook High School for earning the 2022 Class C Freestyle State Championship! He competed last week at the Class Championships at Black Mountain in Rumford. His winning time was 11:59.0.

Many of our classes are celebrating Dr. Seuss this week. Mrs. Desmond’s Class read, “Bartholomew and the Oobleck and then made oobleck themselves! One of Miss Shelby’s students dressed backwards today in celebration of Dr. Seuss.





Eli Goodwin participated in the Read to Riding reading program last summer and won a $140 gift certificate to buy a new bike. Congratulations, Eli! Keep reading and enjoy your new bike!


Congratulations to So. Aroostook High School Seniors Brianna Daggett, Hunter Burpee, & Chris Caswell on their selection to the Aroostook League Senior All-Star teams. All three will be playing in the Aroostook Senior League All-Star Games in Caribou on Wednesday March 9th.




Congratulations to So. Aroostook High School Senior Hunter Burpee on his selection to the Maine McDonald's Senior Boys C/D All-Star team. Hunter will be playing at the Maine McDonald's Senior All-Star Game at Husson University on Saturday March 12, 2022. The game time for the C/D game is 1:15pm.


Congratulations to Coach Cliff Urquhart on his selection as the 2022 Northern Maine Class D Girls Coach of the Year by the Maine Association of Basketball Coaches. Coach Urquhart will be coaching the Northern Maine C/D Girls All-Star Team at the Maine McDonald's Senior All-Star Game on Saturday March 12, 2022.


So. Aroostook High School will be pre-selling tickets for the Class D State Championships being held in Augusta on Saturday March 5th. So. Aroostook girls team will be playing Seacoast Christian at 1:00pm and the So. Aroostook boys team will be playing Forest Hills High School at approximately 2:30pm. Tickets costs are $5.00 for students and $10.00 for adults. If interested in purchasing tickets, please stop by the So. Aroostook High School office.


Thank you to everyone who came out for the victory parade, to the Island Falls and Oakfield fire departments and the Maine State Police for the escort and thank you Andy and Brittany Brewer for the firework show!! See you on Saturday!!


There will be a victory parade for the So. Aroostook High School girls and boys basketball teams at approximately 4:15pm today. The parade will go through Island Falls, Dyer Brook, Oakfield, Smyrna, and Merrill and finish at the school. Come out to congratulate the teams!!
