So. Aroostook High School enjoyed some Project Based Learning activities today. It was great to get outside and enjoy the beautiful day.

So. Aroostook High School students took a field trip today to Katahdin Woods and Water to learn about outdoor survival as part of a weeklong Project Based Learning Project that has been organized by the high school teachers as a fun way to end the school year. Students will apply skills learned from all content areas and apply it in the project, "Island Survival". It will be great week of learning and fun for our students. Thank you to the SA high school teachers for this great learning experience. More pictures coming all this week.




Tomorrow is Field Day for BOTH elementary and middle school students. Please remember to bring sunscreen, bug spray, a change of clothes, towel and water bottle. We will have a cook out at lunch time and spend most of the day right outside playing games. It's looking like we will have some great weather!

So. Aroostook 8th graders took a trip to Urban Air Adventure Park in Bangor today. Hard to believe they will be starting high school next year. They grow up way too fast.


Fifth grade participated in the Potato Olympics. Each student chose and decorated a potato athlete and wrote up an Olympian Bio which they then presented to the class. The Potato Athletes competed in five events where time, distance, and water displacement were measured. It was a SPUDtastic series of events.

Best of luck to So. Aroostook High School Junior John Langer as he travels to Fort Jackson, South Carolina next week to start his basic training in the United States Army/National Guard. John will return from basic training for his senior year here at So. Aroostook in the Fall. Thank you for your service John!!!


8th Grade held their annual Geography Fair in Mrs. Russell's room today. Students shared information about the country they researched and were also able to share a type of food from the country.





So. Aroostook High School National Honor Society members spent time yesterday afternoon, after school, engaged in some community service. They assisted in planting flowers for Green Valley Association. Thank you to NHS advisor Hilary Lane for helping to coordinate this for our students.
