
Congratulations to So. Aroostook High School students Lana Booker, Bailey Vose, Callie Russell & Alyssa Crandall on their acceptance into the All-Aroostook High School Band. The All Aroostook Band Festival will be held on Friday, January 13th and Saturday, January 14th at Ashland High School.

So. Aroostook High School is pleased to announce that Senior Madison Russell signed a National Letter of Intent to attend Saint Joseph's College of Maine for the Fall of 2023. Madison has been accepted to attend Saint Joseph's and has been offered a yearly $24,000 Merit scholarship for four years for a total of $96,000. Madison plans to play for Coach Mike McDevitt in the Saint Joseph's College of Maine Women's Basketball Program.
Madison is a 1,000 point scorer, has earned All-tournament honors and All-County honors. In 2022, she earned the Most Outstanding Player of the Northern Maine Class D tournament in Bangor. Madison has been a key member of the four time Northern Maine Championship team here at So. Aroostook High School and has also been part of two State Class D Championship teams, including last year's team that finished the season with a perfect 22-0 record.

Due to the impending winter storm with mixed precipitation this morning and this afternoon, RSU 50/So. Aroostook Community School will be dismissing school at 11:15am today.

Last evening, RSU 50 Board Member Barbara Burton was recognized for 12 years of service to the RSU 50 Board. Barbara is a long-time educator at RSU 29 and a strong advocate for the students and programs here at So. Aroostook Community School.
