
Happy Teacher & Staff Appreciation Day!! Thank you to the RSU 50 teachers and staff for everything you do. We purchased a box of Maple Candy for each staff member, from Spring Break Maple & Honey located in Smyrna, as a small token of our appreciation.


I had the pleasure of seeing and talking to Miss Lyons' second grade during their library class this morning. It was great to see them. They are greatly missed here at school!

Hannah Landry of Island Falls has received an A. Cressy Morrison Scholarship from Scholarship America. Hannah Landry was awarded a $1,000 scholarship for her college education, renewable for an additional three years totaling $10,000!! Check out the story on our website.

Sharing this picture for our High School Science students of lettuce growing in the So. Aroostook High School Science lab which was planted as part of an Aquaponics Project prior to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Our ACAP partners have shared with us the attached document that lists several of the many services ACAP offers and information on how to connect with them.


Mrs. Kim Russell invited So. Aroostook Middle School students to a virtual cooking class this morning to bake muffins with her. Eighteen students joined her. Here is a picture of some of their creations. Great work guys!!


So. Aroostook received a nice Certificate of Appreciation from the Maine Dept. of Education. During the Covid-19 Pandemic the So. Aroostook food service and delivery staff have put out 18,268 meals and counting.

Good Morning RSU 50! Check out the Second Trimester Grade 6-12 Honor Roll that has been posted on the school website. Congratulations to the students for their hard work & attention to their academics. Well done!

SACS 6th Grade students were scheduled for a free field trip to the Gulf of Maine Research Institute in Portland, Maine this Spring. Instead, 6th grade will be engaging in LabVenture Express Sessions the week of April 27th 1:00-1:45, each day. Thank you GMRI!


Mrs. York's 5th Grade class has been working on a dinosaur food web in their remote Science class. Here's a great example. Nice job!


During remote learning, So. Aroostook 9th graders have been working on Climate Change Projects in Science. Their task was to create a company whose goal is to fight Climate Change and to create slideshows about their companies. Here are a couple of examples. Great Job Girls.
