
SACS Food Pantry has 30 boxes of food available. If you would like a box of food, please contact the school at 757-8206 to secure a box. The food will be available on Monday April 4th from 2:30-3:30pm at the High School Main Entrance for the families that call and reserve a box. Please do not arrive before 2:30pm on Monday because of student dismissal pick-up and bus traffic. Thank you!

Mrs. Russell's 8th graders have been working on a decades project. They were assigned a decade in which they had to create an iMovie that would show the pop culture of their decade. Some of the students also dressed up for their presentation today. Great job! Thank you for sharing Mrs. Russell.

Tomorrow, Friday April 2, the world will turn blue in honor of World Autism Awareness Day. It's all part of "Light it Up Blue", a campaign spearheaded by the organization Autism Speaks that aims to foster understanding and acceptance for those with autism. Mrs. Mathers World History Class engaged in Renaissance presentations today. The two young ladies presentation "Women of the Renaissance" included costumes, a powerpoint, and an informational board . Well done!

SACS high school students continue to impress the judges with their STEM fair projects! Many interesting topics have been explored....surface tension of water, potential and kinetic energy, drugs and genetics, differences between aquatic and non-aquatic bird feathers, materials that can be used to filter water, how the chemical, luminol, works to help investigate crime scenes, and how an online weather app compares to our school weather station. Keep up the great work!

Congratulations to Southern Aroostook's Luke Streinz for earning All-Aroostook in Nordic Skiing! Luke finished first in the freestyle pursuit at the Aroostook County Nordic Championship earlier this month.

We are proud to announce that Lana Desmond, our 2nd grade teacher, is a finalist for Aroostook County Teacher of the Year! Mrs. Desmond has been working at Southern Aroostook for 20 years, first as an educational technician and for the last 7 years as a teacher.
