Southern Aroostook High School Senior Hannah McGary will graduate with honors in June as a member of the Class of 2026. Hannah has served as Class President for her sophomore, junior, and senior years. Her commitment to academic excellence earned her a spot in the National Honor Society (where she currently serves as Secretary), the opportunity to represent SACS at both the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Conference (HOBY) and Maine Dirigo State. Hannah served on the 2025 Prom Committee and is also an active member of the Southern Aroostook Scholarship Fund.
On the athletic front, Hannah’s impact has been tremendous.
On the Court: As a 3-time Northern Maine Champion and 3-time State Champion (2022–2024), Hannah has been a cornerstone of a basketball dynasty. She has served as Captain for the 2024–2026 seasons.
On the Field: In 2026, Hannah’s dominance in soccer earned her All-State and All-Aroostook honors. She led the team as Captain in 2025.
On the Diamond: A varsity softball standout since 2023, Hannah will cap off her high school athletic career as Softball Captain this spring.
What truly sets Hannah apart is her dedication to the Southern Aroostook Community. Since 2018, she has placed Christmas wreaths on the Oakfield Veterans Memorial, a tradition of respect she has upheld for nearly a decade. From volunteering at Special Olympics, SACS Community Service Day, and the Good Shepherd Food Bank to coaching the next generation of athletes at SACS Hoop Camp, Hannah is always giving back. Her work ethic extends to her part-time job, where she serves as a Floor Aide at Madigan Estates Nursing Facility, providing care and support to our community's seniors.
Hannah’s future plans are to attend the University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI) this fall to major in Elementary Education. Hannah’s ultimate goal is one that makes us all proud: she hopes to return to Southern Aroostook to teach the next generation of Warriors. Hannah is the daughter of Misty Roy and Matthew McGary.
