SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS FOR SOUTHERN AROOSTOOK COMMUNITY SCHOOL CLASS OF 2020
Southern Aroostook Community High School Seniors received scholarship awards of over $75,000 at their very memorable graduation ceremony held on Friday, June 12th at 7 p.m. on the SACS soccer field. The graduation was well attended by family and friends and also shown via live stream with WHOU.
Sydney Brewer received a Novatus Scholarship, a Curry Family of Island Falls Scholarship (in memory of Joyce Curry), a Malcolm & Priscilla Palmer Scholarship, Southern Aroostook Educational Trust Scholarship, Houlton Regional Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship, the Arthur Briggs Memorial Scholarship, an Oakfield Thriftway Scholarship and a scholarship in memory of Michaela Calaman (by Diana Rockwell). Sydney also received a scholarship from SACS Dollars for Scholars.
Levi Brown received a scholarship in memory of Peter Cullinan.
Emily Canavan received the David Ryan Memorial Scholarship, a Kirby Living Trust Scholarship, a Malcolm & Priscilla Palmer Scholarship, Southern Aroostook Educational Trust Scholarship, the Bowers Scholarship, a Katahdin Trust Company Scholarship, a Katahdin Federal Credit Union Scholarship, the Paul F. Sherman Memorial Scholarship, the Ted Friel Memorial Scholarship, a Pennies for Seniors Project Scholarship and a SACS Dollars for Scholars Scholarship.
Maia Crandall was awarded the Bev Clark Memorial Scholarship, an Oakfield Thriftway Scholarship, and a SACS Dollars for Scholars Scholarship.
Kayla Gadsby received a Maine Blue Collar Workers Scholarship as well as the Jarrica Emery Memorial Scholarship.
Carson Grant was awarded a scholarship from the Ricker College Board of Trustees – The George & Annie Knox Scholarship, an Island Falls Alumni Scholarship, an Oakfield Alumni Scholarship, the Phil Sherman Memorial Scholarship, a Houlton Lodge of Elks Scholarship, and a scholarship from York’s of Houlton.
Alexis Hartin received the RSU #50 Education Assoc. Scholarship, the Audrey Benn Memorial Scholarship, the Diane Desmond Memorial Scholarship, a “Pete” Porter Memorial Scholarship, the MaryAnn Sprague Edwards Memorial Scholarship, an Island Falls Alumni Scholarship, the Island Falls Lakes Assoc. Scholarship and a scholarship from SACS Dollars for Scholars.
Hannah Landry was awarded a Scholarship America Scholarship, a Northern Maine Community College Presidential Scholarship, the SACS Anonymous Scholarship, a Curry Family of Island Falls Scholarship (in memory of Joyce Curry), a Kelly A. Greene Memorial Scholarship, the Dr. Ronald Blum Scholarship and a scholarship in Memory of Peter Cullinan.
Alexa Merry was the recipient of a Curry Family of Island Falls Scholarship (in memory of Joyce Curry), a Pennies for Seniors Project Scholarship and SACS Dollars for Scholars Scholarship
Wyatt Nadeau received an Oakfield Alumni Scholarship, the Katahdin Cedar Log Homes Scholarship, a scholarship from Scotty and Candy Nevers, an Oakfield Thriftway Scholarship and a VaJoWa Golf Club Scholarship.
Makaelyn Porter was awarded the Tyler/Grandmaison MELMAC Scholarship, a Kirby Living Trust Scholarship, a Malcolm & Priscilla Palmer Scholarship, a scholarship in Loving Memory of Robert Porter from Leithea Porter, an Aroostook Youth Basketball League Scholarship, the Houlton Rotary Scholarship, a Kelly A. Greene Memorial Scholarship. a Southern Aroostook Educational Trust Scholarship, a Katahdin Club Scholarship, a Katahdin Federal Credit Union Scholarship, an Island Falls Alumni Scholarship, the Chet McGraw Memorial Scholarship, a Houlton Regional Hospital Medical Staff Scholarship, the Pennies for Seniors Project Award, an Oakfield Thriftway Scholarship, the Mike & Heidi Community Fund Scholarship, a Heisman High School Scholarship and a scholarship from SACS Dollars for Scholars.
